ICC beseeches US Officials to Combat Rebel League

American Premier League will begin on the 6th of October with the clash between Premium Pakistan and Premium Bangladesh. The tournament has been the endeavor of entrepreneur Jay Mir and he has been workingicc ambitiously to put cricket on the American sporting graph. Presently, only a minority (the South Asian Americans) is gripped by the game fever.

ICC has already held talks with the US officials to form a tourney along the IPL lines. This shall be a way to combat the APL circus, believes ICC. The biggest cricketing body in the world has unsanctioned APL. It is widely believed that ICC has wilted under the pressure of BCCI, world’s richest cricketing body and one that makes a lot of moolah from the IPL.

Inderjit Bindra, ICC’s Principal Advisor, has a point here. He suggests that apart from regulating a venture, ICC should also look forward to a plausible alternative. Just like IPL curbed the movement of Rebel League- ICL, it is imperative for the US officials to come up with an alternative to APL too. Some such venture would be approved by ICC and fetch its assistance too.

Bindra further says that he will be discussing this theory with US officials in Dubai. Presently, Bindra is trying his best to promote cricket in USA. He feels that the American cricketing revolution is a welcome idea but it should be given a platform by ICC and shall not run erratically like a truant child.
